The Polluter Accountability Act will be on the ballot again thanks mostly to Joe Caves and will be labeled as Proposition 23. Sungate Energy Solutions would like to address this important law that will be put before the voters in this coming November’s election. The central idea behind this proposition is to hold polluters accountable for the damages that they do to California’s environment. In order to enable these actions against polluters, a simple majority of the legislature has to agree rather than two thirds as it had been enacted.

It’s hoped by all that care that Joe Caves is clever enough to fight the big oil and gas money so that he can send his message to the people – more importantly so that it’s received by the people. Californians tend to want to fight for clean air and water free from the rot and stink left by fossil fuels, but the fear mongering that takes place on the side of big money is huge and effective. Telling California citizens that polluters should be responsible for the damage that they continue to cause means a lot. However, telling people to be afraid – be very afraid that California’s economy will tank even more with increased joblessness and regulations causing businesses to have to leave the state is fear mongering that tends to work. Big business is good at that.

Californians need to know that they have alternatives that are less expensive in the long run than relying on fossil fuels. In fact, many large businesses and homes have begun to turn to it because it’s less expensive and more practical than relying on the continually increasing prices of oil and natural gas. The alternatives like solar power are practical, less expensive and clean.
